Public Policy Forum

CONNECT. ENGAGE. LEAD.

The Florida Afterschool Network will hold its second annual Public Policy Forum on October 4, 2022, in Orlando. The goal of the forum is to bring together afterschool and expanded learning program directors, staff, K-12 leaders and policy experts to share research-based information and explore solutions for workforce development, career and college readiness, and sustainable funding gor out-of-school-time programs. This collaborative and solution-focused event explore how our state can increase high-quality afterschool and summer learning opportunities for all.

OCTOBER 4, 2022, 10:00 AM-4:00 PM

This year we are offering this event as a preconference to the Florida Afterschool Conference at the Rosen Centre Hotel.

LEGISLATIVE PRIORITIES

The forum will provide an overview of the policy landscape for education and workforce development at the local, state and federal level through an out-of-school-time lens. This will provide attendees an opportunity to engage with policy makers in our efforts to create a clear strategy to expand access to quality expanded learning.

LOCAL IMPACT

We believe that local programs are best positioned to meet the varying needs of youth and familes. It is our goal to not only provide technical assistance and professional development to these programs, but highlight their innovative approaches to success. This year’s forum will include a panel highlighting the local use of ARP funding to address COVID recovery and accerate learning.
