Kayla Kitchens first started in the afterschool field as a volunteer throughout high school at the Museum of Arts and Science in Daytona Beach, Florida. She joined Florida After School in August 2023, as a part-time administrative assistant. Kayla quickly proved to be an invaluable team member and took on additional project and office management tasks. She continued to take on new challenges and currently oversees several peer learning communities and assists with professional learning development. Kayla holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and is pursuing her master’s in educational psychology from Florida State University. Kayla is an animal lover and a fierce advocate for youth mental health and resiliency.
