Kidokinetics: Inspiring Florida’s Youth Through Sports
Kidokinetics is sparking a love for movement and sports among Florida’s youth through a dynamic and fully customizable sports enrichment program. Designed for children up to age 10, Kidokinetics brings the joy of physical education directly to schools, alleviating the burden on school staff and enriching the lives of students across the state—and beyond.
From its humble beginnings with just a few sports like basketball, soccer, and volleyball, Kidokinetics has now expanded to offer more than 30 different sports. This ever-growing program aims to empower young children with confidence, not only in their physical abilities but also in their understanding of how their bodies work.
Kristin Wallin, Program and Administrative Manager, shares, “Our goal is to help children feel confident in playing sports while also teaching them about anatomy and physiology in an age-appropriate and engaging way. They learn about their muscles, the importance of healthy eating, and how exercise benefits their bodies—all while having fun.”
One of the key aspects of the Kidokinetics curriculum is its focus on making exercise enjoyable and seamless. The program ensures that kids burn off their energy in a way that promotes healthy brain development and instills a lifelong appreciation for physical activity, often without them even realizing they’re learning.
In addition to its core programming, Kidokinetics has formed partnerships with national sports organizations like the United States Tennis Association, USA Lacrosse, and NFL Flag Football. On a local level, they collaborate with public libraries and the Miami Children’s Museum to create specialized programs that cater to the unique needs of the community. To date, Kidokenetics serve over 100 facilities in South Florida and have 5 franchises in Florida, Texas and North Carolina.
For families, Kidokinetics offers an invaluable opportunity: the chance for children to explore a variety of sports before committing to a specific team. “Every week introduces something new, keeping the experience fresh and exciting,” Wallin explains. “It also helps parents discover what sports their children are naturally drawn to or excel in.”
With over 25 years of experience, Kidokinetics remains steadfast in its mission to reach one million children. However, their ambitions extend beyond this milestone. “Our goal is to continue expanding, reaching as many kids as possible, and exposing them to a wide variety of sports,” says Wallin. “Whether they enjoy individual sports like running and swimming, or team sports, we want them to try it all and discover their passions.”
As Kidokinetics looks to the future, they continue to add new sports to their offerings—pickleball being one of the latest additions. The program’s vision is clear: to keep growing, keep innovating, and keep inspiring the next generation of athletes.
