Youth Entrepreneurship (YE) Peer Learning Community Mini-Grant Recipients Announced
Florida Afterschool is focused on expanding the entrepreneurial mindset of Florida’s youth. We just launched our Summer YE Peer Learning Community to help build capacity and share resources across programs interested in expanding or launching entrepreneurship opportunities during their summer learning programs. Nine programs were selected and include:
- Arising Phenomenal Princesses (Volusia)
- Cunningham Family Child Care Home (Santa Rosa)
- James B. Sanderlin Family Service Center (Pinellas)
- Leigha Gibson Foundation, Inc. (Escambia)
- Palm Beach Maritime Academy (Palm Beach)
- Pearl City CATS with the Boca Raton Housing Authority (Palm Beach)
- The Treehouse Foundation (Orange)
- Teen Forward (Duval)
- YMCA Summer Camp @ St. Johns Classical Academy (Clay)
Florida After School will use this PLC to provide tailored resources, training and technical assistance to help programs in their efforts to build workforce ready skills in students today needed for the jobs of tomorrow. Selected entities will be participate in a series of virtual peer learning calls and to share data collected from program participants. In addition, each program will receive a small stipend to test curricula and assessment tools. This project is part of a national movement working to inspire and empower our future workforce.
