Quality Standards
Quality programs make a difference.

The Florida After School Standards for Quality Programs define the core principles and best practices that lead to the delivery of quality programming for children and youth in afterschool programs. The Standards provide a framework for the development of a caring, dynamic, stimulating and safe afterschool environment for children and youth.

The Provider Reflection Workbook offers guided questions to get out-of-school time professionals  thinking deeper about how quality looks in their programs. It is like a quality journal for practitioners. The workbook lays out the standards and indicators that were developed with input from afterschool and summer program professionals and providers across the state. It is a resource for ongoing quality improvement.

The Program Quality Needs Assessment is intended to help providers identify their program’s strengths and areas where additional support may be helpful, in the spirit of continuous quality improvement. The scores on the Needs Assessment are not intended to grade or rank programs or to be punitive in any way. Rather, the results may be used as a guide to develop quality improvement plans, to design needs-based professional learning, and/or to determine appropriate technical assistance.
