Lili G. Murphy

Lili G. Murphy

Executive Director

Liliana “Lili” Gomez Murphy was named executive director of Florida After School in February 2022. Previously, she served as the statewide assistant director for the 21st Century Community Learning Centers program at the Florida Department of Education, working with afterschool programs and stakeholders and administering grant resources. She has also held positions with Help Me Grow Florida and the Early Learning Coalition of Miami-Dade/Monroe. Lili is pursuing a master's in public administration from Florida State University and is bilingual. Her favorite title is mom.

Tammy Greer

Tammy Greer

Deputy Director

Tammy Greer is a seasoned nonprofit executive, expert grant writer, and business professional with over 30 years of experience. She holds a master's in public administration from United States International University and a bachelor's in interdisciplinary humanities from the University of West Florida. Tammy has composed thousands of successful grant proposals and takes pride in both securing awards and sustaining funding so nonprofits can flourish. Her greatest accomplishment is raising three amazing humans into thriving adults.

Debi Embry

Debi Embry

Membership & Conference

Debi Embry's career includes more than 25 years with Brevard Public Schools, overseeing dozens of fee-based afterschool programs and 21st Century Community Learning Center programs. Beginning in 2004, she was responsible for program operations including workforce development, staff training, fiscal management, parent and student satisfaction, and grant writing. Debi served on the FASA board of directors for many years and then as a consultant supporting conferences, training, membership, and finances. She is a beloved mother and grandmother — and the wife of Florida After School's best conference volunteer and heavy box lifter.

Mary Grey

Mary Grey

Special Project Coordinator

Mary Grey has devoted more than 30 years to advancing quality afterschool programs serving children, families, and communities. For 25 years with Pasco County Schools, she directed afterschool enrichment programs across 36 elementary sites, including fee-based services, 21st CCLC programs, and grant-funded middle school academic enrichment. She managed all aspects of operations, supervised over 275 staff, provided professional development, ensured fiscal responsibility, and secured grant funding. A former FASA board member, Mary holds dual Master of Business Administration degrees from Saint Leo University.

Morgan Evers

Morgan Evers

Consultant

Morgan Evers is the Founder and CEO of the consulting firm FINACIOUS. She has trained, created, and launched programs serving children, youth, and families for the past 18 years in Tallahassee and across Florida. She worked at length for the State of Florida with Children's Medical Services in pediatric behavioral health clinics, and for the Early Learning Coalition of the Big Bend Region, where she managed early care and education, customer service, and child care referral teams before dedicating four years to community partnerships, events, and outreach. Morgan's favorite place to be is by any shore, fishing and adventuring with family.

McKenzie Carns

McKenzie Carns

Program Communications Specialist

McKenzie Coker Carns joined the Florida After School team in early 2023. Her out-of-school time experience comes from directing a week-long summer camp for 6th–8th grade students. As a program specialist, she works directly with school districts to support their afterschool programs and coordinates agency communications for Florida After School. McKenzie graduated from Oklahoma State University with dual degrees in multimedia journalism and political science. She is a newlywed and mom to her fur baby, Casper.

Program & Training Specialist

Kayla Kitchens first entered the afterschool field as a volunteer throughout high school at the Museum of Arts and Sciences in Daytona Beach. She joined Florida After School in August 2023 as a part-time administrative assistant and quickly proved invaluable, taking on project and office management tasks. She now oversees several peer learning communities and assists with professional learning development. Kayla holds a bachelor's in psychology and is pursuing a master's in educational psychology from Florida State University. She is an animal lover and a fierce advocate for youth mental health and resiliency.
